Engage in the ancient sport of Paddletronic Duel, and aim to achieve ultimate paddle status. Overcome an ever shifting arena of dynamic obstacles, by using 1 of 4 different Paddles, each with a different ability and shape.

Paddletronic Duel is inspired by pong and air hockey and can be played by 1 or 2 players on an Android device. The interaction between paddle and environment/obstacles is physics based, and uses Box2d for the physics system. My favorite design aspect of this game is the windmill obstacles, because in addition to being good for blocking the ball, both players can interact with it, and interacting with it affects both players. An experienced player can manually use his paddle to flick the windmill spinner, to get it rotating at high angular velocity without needing the ball to collide with it. The other player has the option of positioning himself within the windmill’s path, in order to jam it and make it stop rotating.

I worked on this game with my sister when I was just exiting college and she was just entering. I was the developer and she was the artist. We finished and released v1.0 together. Afterwards, I brought on a few other talented college kids to help me polish and add more features to this game for v1.1, v1.2, and v1.3.
